Booking a Spa Day for Two Without Making It Complicated

It usually starts with a text. An anniversary is coming up, or a friend's birthday, or a sister is in town for the weekend, and someone writes: we should do a spa day. Then nobody books it, because booking for two feels like a puzzle.
It is simpler than it looks. For two massages in the same room, book Couples Side By Side Swedish Massage 60 Min, which is $145 for each guest on our menu. Call early for a weekend, because a side-by-side visit needs two therapists free at the same hour. And if only one of you wants a massage, pair it with a pedicure so you start and finish together. Here is how each piece works, what happens when you arrive, and the one thing we suggest saying when you call.
How does a side-by-side massage actually work?
Two of you, two therapists, one room. You each have your own table, a few feet apart, and each therapist stays with one of you the whole time.
Because there are two therapists, there are also two conversations before anything starts. Each of you is asked where you hold tension and how you want to feel walking out. One of you can want slow, easy work while the other wants firmer pressure on the shoulders. Nobody has to compromise.
We treat that conversation as part of the service, not a formality. It is ten minutes that decides how the next hour is spent, and it is the same if you come alone or with someone.
Our massage therapists are California-certified (CAMTC). Our full body massage follows the Aveda Elemental Nature philosophy, so you choose the aroma, and it is often the first thing you both notice when you lie down.
- Couples Side By Side Swedish Massage 60 Min, $145 per guest. The one most couples book.
- Couples Side By Side Swedish Massage 75 Min, $180 per guest, and the 90 Min, $195 per guest, when you both want the clock out of the room.
- Couples Side By Side Deeptissue Massage 60 Min, $175 per guest, if you both like firm, sustained pressure.
How far ahead should we book a weekend?
Further ahead than you would for one person. A side-by-side booking needs two therapists who are both free at the same hour, and a room set up for two. Saturdays and Sundays are when most people want exactly that, so those times go first.
Our advice is simple: as soon as you know the date, call. If your schedule bends at all, a weekday afternoon gives you far more choices of time and therapist. We are open seven days a week, so a Tuesday or a Wednesday is a real option, not a consolation prize.
Booking online works too, with one thing to know. Book both appointments at the same time, so the two massages line up in the same room. If the calendar will not show you two times together, call the desk. A person can look at the whole day with you, which the screen cannot.
If the date is tied to an occasion, like an anniversary dinner that night, tell us the time you need to be out the door. We would rather plan backward from your evening than have you watching the clock on the table.
What if only one of us wants a massage?
This comes up more than you would think. One of you has been waiting all month for a massage. The other would rather not be on a table at all, but still wants to come.
That is fine. The visit does not have to match. We would rather you each book what you actually want than two of the same thing for the sake of a photo.
The easiest pairing is a massage for one and a Spa Pedicure for the other, booked at the same hour. Spa Pedicure is 60 minutes and $65, with a warm soak, nail and cuticle care, a callus treatment, a massage with foot creme, hot towels and polish. A 60 minute massage and a 60 minute pedicure start together and finish together, so nobody ends up waiting.
Or skip the massage room and sit next to each other. Side By Side Spa Pedicure is 60 minutes and $65 for each of you: two chairs, side by side, and a full hour to actually talk. For a lot of friends and sisters, that conversation is the whole point.
What happens when you walk in together?
Every visit here starts the same way. You are each offered Aveda's comforting tea and a warm neck wrap while you settle in. If one of you came straight from work, this is the part where the day starts to let go.
For a side-by-side massage, your therapists walk you back together. The room is warm and quiet, the lights are low, and the scent of the aroma you chose is already in the air. Your therapists step out while you get settled on the tables, then come back and begin.
Pedicures begin with a foot soak with calming Aveda and Comfort Zone aromas. It is a good moment to put the phones away, and most of the time nobody needs to be asked twice.
We see our guests as guests, not customers, and with two people that shows in small ways: two cups of tea, two conversations, two people who walk back out to the car at the same easy pace.
The one thing to say when you call
Tell us what the occasion is. An anniversary, a birthday, a friend who just finished a hard year. It changes nothing on the bill, but it tells us what kind of visit you are hoping for.
Remembering details like that is what What's Best For The Guest looks like on an ordinary day. It has been our motto for more than 25 years in Fig Garden Village, and it is how a regular appointment becomes the visit you both remember.
If it is a surprise, say that too. Let the desk know when you book, and ask how appointment reminders will reach each of you, so nothing gives it away early.
Then give yourselves ten extra minutes on the day. Parking in Fig Garden Village is free, with no meters and no time limits, and we are right behind Jamba Juice near Shaw and Palm. Arriving together, unhurried, is half of what you came for.
Want to make it a longer afternoon?
If one service each does not feel like enough, ask the desk about our spa packages. Spa package prices include a 20% gratuity, so there is no math at the end of a long, quiet afternoon.
If one of you is booking a massage and wants it to run a little longer than the other's service, Add 15 adds fifteen minutes to any massage for $20. Ask for it when you book, so the time is held.
And if the spa day is really a gift, a gift card is the easy way to give it. Our gift cards never expire, physical cards ship free, and they are good toward any service, product, or spa package. They can pick the day, and the person they want to bring.
Questions we hear at the desk
Is the couples massage price for both of us?
Each guest has their own appointment, so each one is priced on its own. Couples Side By Side Swedish Massage 60 Min is $145 per guest on our menu, and Couples Side By Side Deeptissue Massage 60 Min is $175 per guest. The desk will confirm your total when you book, before anything is held.
Do we finish at the same time?
Yes, when you book the same length at the same hour. Two 60 minute services start and finish together, whether that is two massages, two pedicures, or one of each. If the lengths do not match, the desk can suggest a small add-on so neither of you ends up waiting in the lobby.
Can we book a side-by-side massage online?
Yes. Book both appointments at the same time, so the two massages line up in the same room. If the online calendar does not show two times together, call the desk at 559-224-2667. We can look at the whole day with you and find the hour that works for both of you.
Do we both have to get the same pressure?
No. Each of you has your own therapist, and each of you gets your own conversation at the start about pressure and the areas that need attention. One of you can ask for light, easy work while the other wants firmer pressure on the shoulders. Just say so before you begin.
Can I book it as a surprise?
Yes. Let the desk know it is a surprise when you book, and ask how appointment reminders will reach each of you so nothing gives it away. If you would rather let them choose the day, a gift card works well too. Our gift cards never expire and are good toward any service.
Pick the date, call the desk, and tell us who you are bringing. We will take it from there. We are at 5054 N Palm Ave in Fig Garden Village, open seven days a week.
