What a Gift Card Can Turn Into: Ideas by Budget

Someone at the desk is holding a gift card envelope and a pen, and they have stopped writing. The name was easy. The amount is the hard part. Fifty dollars feels small. Three hundred feels like a lot to guess at.
Here is what we tell them: do not start with a number. Start with the kind of time you want to give. A quick refresh, an hour that is fully theirs, a long afternoon, or a habit they keep. Each one has a natural price, and below we walk through all four with real prices from our menu, so you can pick the shape first and let the amount follow.
Why start with the shape instead of the amount?
A dollar figure on its own does not tell anyone what to do with it. A card that matches a real visit does. When the amount lines up with something they can book in one go, it gets used, and it gets used well.
We see our guests as guests, not customers, and that includes the person buying the gift. So when you ask us how much to put on a card, we will usually ask a question back. Who is it for? Do they need an hour of quiet, or are they the type who never sits still? The answer almost always points to one of the four shapes below.
Whatever you choose, they still get the last word. Our gift cards never expire, physical cards ship free, and they are good toward any service, product or spa package. If they would rather turn your quick refresh into a long afternoon, they can.
A quick refresh: $50 to $110
This is for the person who will not take an afternoon off, but might take thirty minutes. The parent between pickups. The coworker who eats lunch at the desk. Short is the point.
Small does not mean rushed. A thirty-minute visit starts the same way a two-hour one does, with Aveda's comforting tea and a warm neck wrap before anything else happens.
- Spa Manicure, 30 minutes, $50. Nail and cuticle care, a hand scrub and massage with hand creme, hot towels and polish.
- Half Hour Massage, 30 minutes, $85 to $110. A focused massage on the one or two spots that carry the most tension.
- Focus Facial 30 Min, $85. An express Aveda facial aimed at one skin concern, with a relaxing mini hand and scalp massage.
- Haircut, $65 to $85. Every one includes a consultation and a complimentary scalp massage, which is often the part people remember.
An hour that is all theirs: $65 to $140
This is the gift most people picture when they say spa day. One service, one artist, and one hour where nobody needs anything from them.
If they choose a massage, the first decision happens before they lie down. Their therapist asks which Aveda aroma they would like, and the room fills with it as the lights stay low. It is a small choice, and it is usually the moment the hour starts to feel like theirs.
Our massage therapists are California-certified (CAMTC) and our estheticians are licensed, so a first-timer is in steady hands.
- A Fullbody Massage 60 Min, $110 to $140. Inspired by the Aveda Elemental Nature philosophy and tailored to the aromas they choose.
- Elemental Nature Facial, 60 minutes, $135. A customized facial that includes a hand, arm, decollete and foot massage.
- Spa Pedicure, 60 minutes, $65. A warm soak, nail and cuticle care, a callus treatment, and a massage with foot creme and hot towels.
- Spa Gel Manicure, 60 minutes, $65, with gel that lasts up to three weeks without chipping.
A long afternoon: $180 to $260
Some people need more than an hour to come down. The first twenty minutes go to letting go of the week, and the good part starts after that. For them, give time on purpose.
This is also where Fig Garden Village quietly earns its keep. Parking is free, with no meters and no time limits, so nobody is checking a meter in the middle of a two-hour massage.
Spa packages fit here too, and spa package prices include a 20% gratuity, so nobody has to think about tipping at the end of a long, easy afternoon.
- Beyond Massage, 75 minutes, $180. A customized massage that begins with our Botanical Scalp treatment. Add a shampoo-and-style finish for $60 more, so a gift of $240 covers both and they walk out relaxed with their hair done.
- Fullbody Massage 2 Hours, $240 to $260. Two full hours, so their therapist can work through every area of tension without watching the clock.
- A Fullbody Massage 75 Min ($130 to $175) followed by a Spa Pedicure ($65). Shoulders first, then a warm foot soak with calming Aveda and Comfort Zone aromas.
A routine they keep
One visit is a treat. A few visits in a row can become a habit, and that is the gift we like best.
A solid rebook and the right home care are the two best things we can send anyone out the door with. A gift can do the same thing, if you shape it that way.
The simplest way is a card sized for a few visits instead of one, with a note on the envelope: for the first week of every month. Because our cards never expire, there is no pressure to spend it in one go, and whatever is left after a visit stays on the card.
If you already know the one service they love, ask the desk about Series Passports: buy 5 visits of a service, get the 6th free. We will tell you plainly whether one fits what you have in mind.
This is the shape we suggest most for the person who never does anything for themselves. The first visit is a gift. By the third, it is just part of how they take care of themselves.
What if the right gift is on the shelf?
Some people on your list already have a favorite shampoo or hand cream from us. A gift card covers that too, and it may be the easiest gift of all for someone who knows exactly what they like.
Aveda has been our exclusive partner since 2003, and its products are plant-based, 96% naturally derived, vegan and cruelty-free. We chose them because they are good for the planet and good for ourselves, and we have never walked that back.
No hard sell, for gift card guests or anyone else. If they come in to spend a card on product, our artists will point them to a small routine, not a cabinet full of bottles.
Why do some prices have a range?
Gift buyers ask this more than anything else. Our hair stylists work at Studio, Senior and Master levels, and massage pricing varies by artist the same way.
A level is not a ranking of who is better. It is where each artist is on their path. If you cover the top of the range, they can book with any artist they like, and anything extra stays on the card for next time.
What we tell our friends
Write the shape on the envelope, not just the amount. A line like an hour that is all yours tells them more than a dollar figure ever will, and it gives the desk something to work with when they call to book.
Then round up a little. Picture the visit, find its price on the menu, and cover the top of the range. A card that covers a little more than the visit is a nice surprise, and the extra waits on the card.
And tell them to book the week they open it. Not because the card will run out, it never expires, but because a booked appointment gets used, and a card in a drawer gets forgotten.
Questions we hear at the desk
Can a gift card be split across more than one visit?
Yes. Our gift cards never expire, and whatever is left after a visit stays on the card for next time. That makes a larger card a good way to give a routine: a manicure one month, a massage the next, and a bottle of their favorite shampoo along the way.
What is a good gift card amount for someone who has never been to a spa?
We usually suggest one full hour. A Fullbody Massage 60 Min is $110 to $140, and a Spa Pedicure is $65. An hour is long enough to settle in without feeling like a big commitment, and every visit starts with Aveda's comforting tea and a warm neck wrap.
Can they use the gift card on products instead of a service?
Yes. Our gift cards are good toward any service, product or spa package, so a card can go toward Aveda products from the shelf just as easily as a massage. If they are not sure what to choose, our artists will suggest a small routine, never a cabinet full of bottles.
Can I buy a gift card online and have it mailed?
Yes. You can buy one online at amenitiesspa.com/gift-certificates/ or at the desk in Fig Garden Village, and physical cards ship free. If you are giving a routine rather than a single visit, add a short note in the envelope so they know what you had in mind.
Tell us who it is for, and we will help you find the shape that fits. Pick up a gift card online or at the desk at 5054 N Palm Ave, right behind Jamba Juice near Shaw and Palm, open seven days a week.
